MAO Umineko 1.0.0 — Installation You need an existing, working Umineko Project installation. This add-on uses its engine and game resources. 1. Close Umineko Project and back up its ons.cfg file. If updating an earlier MAO installation, keep the old archive or back up its MAO files. 2. Extract this ZIP into your Umineko Project game folder—the folder containing en.file. Merge the graphics and video folders with the existing folders. Do not replace those folders wholesale. 3. Open ons.cfg in a plain-text editor. Set its game-script line to: game-script=mao-ps3.file To start with MAO PC instead, use: game-script=mao-pc.file Replace the existing game-script line, or add one if it is absent. Keep the rest of the file unchanged. 4. Start Umineko Project normally. Switching editions Open System Settings and change Game language to MAO PC or MAO PS3. Close settings, then quit and reopen the game to load that edition. Both editions use Umineko Project’s PS3 presentation. Updating Close the game and extract the newer MAO archive into the same game folder, merging folders and replacing the older MAO files. Your existing ons.cfg is retained. Keep the previous archive if you want to be able to roll back. Returning to your previous translation Restore the previous game-script value in ons.cfg, then restart the game. The original Umineko Project language packs are retained. Removing MAO First restore your previous game-script value. You can then remove the files listed in MAO-addon-manifest.json and that manifest itself. Keep the shared graphics and video folders, original game files, ons.cfg and saves. To undo an update, restore the previous MAO archive or your backup. For what is included, see MAO-RELEASE-NOTES.txt.
